Here's the truth: 70% of DevOps jobs don't require deep Kubernetes knowledge. They need cloud fundamentals, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code. Kubernetes is overkill for most applications.
But here's the problem: recruiters put "Kubernetes" in every job description because it's a buzzword. When you actually interview, they're testing if you understand container orchestration concepts, not if you can configure a service mesh.
